How It Works

Our top priority at Stone&Beyond is always focused on quality, service, and customer satisfaction. Our experience staff will walk you through the entire process from the initial consultation through the final installation.

Initial Consultation

When you visit our showroom, please bring in your drawings or blueprints so we can discuss any special details of your projects and help you select the material and edge profile that meet your style and budget, and answer any questions or concerns you might have. We will also provide you with a quote of your project at this time.

Contract

When you're ready to proceed, we will prepare a detailed contract, process your order and schedule appointments for demolition of your existing materials, template and installation. A standard 50% deposit is required upon contract signing.

Installation & Maintenance

Demolition - On the scheduled date, we will begin the removal of the existing materials and installation of new plywood (if necessary). Plywood sub tops are required on 2 cm materials. 3 cm material usually does not require a sub top. The sizes used (5/8”or ¾”) depends on the cabinets and overhangs. Customers are advised to use corbels or other materials to support any overhang longer than 7”. We will take all precaution to limit the dust, drywall & cabinetry damage that may be involved with the removal of your existing materials. Repairs by another party may be necessary. Customers are responsible removing everything from the base cabinets and for the disconnection of the existing sinks, disposals, faucets, cook tops, microwave, hood and electrical outlet plates.

Template - After the demolition and installation of new plywoods, we will complete a template of your project. The typical template appointment will take between 1-2 hours. If your original measurements are different from the template, the final price of your project will be adjusted according. It is very important for you or your contractor to be on present during the template appointment to discuss any concerns such as seam placement or any changes to your project prior to installation. No changes may be made once the template is completed. Customers have the option for template layout for materials with busy patterns

Prior to your template appointment, we require your base cabinets to be installed, your sink, faucet, soap & hot water dispensers, cook top, microwave, range and hood to be on site. An additional 25% is due at this time

Installation - Installation usually occurs approximately 3-7 days from the template appointment. Standard installation typically takes a day. Most of the fabrication works are done in our workshop, however some cutting are necessary on site. The sink faucets, electrical outlets, cook top and top mount sink will be cut on site. Stone&Beyond do not reinstall or hookup any appliances, electrical or plumbing.

Completion -Your inspection and final approval of the job is very important to us and we will do this together. At this time, the remaining final payment balance of 25% is due. Once Stone&Beyond completes your project, we will provide a care kit containing a bottle of sealer, polish preserver and cleaner to help you properly care for your materials.
